Description

The Maltings is a mid-16th century cottage, later altered in the 18th and 20th centuries and now used as a house. The building is constructed of timber framing, partially encased in painted brick, with a section of painted brick and an old tile gabled roof. It has two storeys and two ridge chimneys, one centrally positioned and the other on the left side. A black painted plinth and offset brick eaves are visible. The north front features irregular two- and three-light leaded casement windows on the first floor and three- and five-light similar windows on the ground floor. A two-storey cant bay is located on the right side, featuring leaded casements and a painted tile-hung apron. The central entrance is accessed via a trellis porch and features a roughly made six-panel door with moulded and fielded panels.
