Description
Nos 11, 12A and the cottage range to the rear of No 11 are early 17th century timber-framed cottages located behind a 19th century red brick front. The building is two stories high with segment arched openings and a slate roof. The exposed timber framing can be seen in the central through passage and at the rear gable. There is a later rear extension to No 12A. Behind No 11 is a late 18th century painted and rendered brick cottage range, formerly known as Lapstone Alley. This section is also two stories with an attic and features two windows on the first floor with segment arched surrounds, including one original leaded casement window. The gable ends are rendered, and there are chamfered beams in the ground floor rooms.
