Description

This is a substantial timber-framed house dated 1601 (as painted on the front) and situated on the east side of High Street, Upton-Upon-Severn. The house was largely rebuilt, with exposed timber framing to the front elevation and a stuccoed side wall. It is two storeys and has an attic. The roof is covered with plain tiles and includes a brick stack on the north roof slope. The front has a two-window range, with renewed moulded bargeboards. Casement windows are found in the attic, featuring the painted date "1601" between modern glazed doors to the first floor. A projecting, 19th-century shopfront is located on the ground floor. A late 18th-century two-storey range extends to London Lane, constructed of painted brick with a plain tile roof and a brick eaves cornice, featuring a single 10-pane window.
