Description
No. 12 High Street is a building that was refronted in the mid to later 18th century, originally dating from the 17th century. It is constructed of brick and stucco and stands three storeys high with one window range. The ground floor features a 19th-century shopfront. Above the shopfront, there are angle quoins, a cornice, and a parapet made of stucco. The central section of the building projects forward and is made of rubbed brick, featuring a Palladian window on the first floor and a single round-headed window above it. The windows are glazing bar sash windows with intersecting bars at the round heads. The forward break of the building narrows and has concave curves between the floors. There is a cornice above that also breaks forward, with a guilloche scroll design on the frieze.
