Description
The Mount is a row of three cottages dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. They are timber framed with brick and some lath and plaster infill, all of which are whitewashed. The cottages have old tile roofs with brick ridge and end stacks, arranged in an L-plan.
No. 1 features a two-window range with a central 19th-century plank door, 19th-century casements with glazing bars, and one leaded light. The ground floor openings are set under segmental brick arches. No. 2 also has a two-window range, but it includes a 20th-century door, casements, and half dormers, along with a brick dentil cornice. No. 3, located on the left, forms a cross wing with its main front facing the left return side. It displays exposed framing with jowled posts and has ground floor and attic windows only. The right return side is made of whitewashed brick and features 19th-century casements, while the left return side has whitewashed brick infill, a 20th-century glazed door, and casements. At the rear, No. 1 has exposed framing, No. 2 has painted sham framing, and No. 3 showcases framing with tension braces and jowled posts in the gable. The interior has not been inspected.
