Description

No. 4 George Street is an early 19th-century building with a stuccoed brick front, likely dating back to the 17th or early 18th century. It has two storeys and an attic. On the first floor, there are two widely spaced sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor features a central early 19th-century doorcase, which is adorned with reeded pilasters, a panelled frieze, and small paired brackets supporting the cornice. This doorcase is flanked by small shop fronts from the late 19th century. The steep-pitched roof has been lowered and now includes two modern flat-roof dormers. Inside, there are chamfered beams. All the listed buildings on George Street are part of a group.
