Description

This farmhouse, now divided into four houses, dates from the late 15th century and was extended in the 16th and 17th centuries. It underwent alterations in the 19th century and was restored in 1981. The building features a combination of brick and timber frame with painted render infill, topped with old tile gabled roofs. It has a T-plan layout with an additional projection on the northwest side and consists of two storeys, with some areas having an attic. There are three chimneys with offset heads and tall clay pots.

The timber-framed section at the east end of the T has three framed bays and a brick plinth. The north gable is jettied and close-studded, with the entrance located on the south gable. There are 20th-century casement windows set within the frame and carved oak bargeboards featuring leaf and floral motifs. The symmetrical north front has one bay with a three-light casement window on each floor, and the frame is exposed with new oak replacements. The brick section to the west includes a plinth, a string course, and moulded eaves that extend across the gable at the right end. Sash windows with glazing bars are present, and all openings feature segmental brick arch heads.

The north front has five bays, with the centre bay blocked. There is a one-bay gable on the right with a small three-light attic casement window and a one-bay gable return.
