Description

Fox Steep is a house dating to 1924, designed by Oliver Hill. It is built with wavy-edged elm boarding, with elm vee-boxed eaves and elm boxed rainwater downpipes. The roof is tiled, with gables and hips at varying heights, and the brick chimneys are stepped over three and four stages, set back from the main roofline. The plan is irregular. The house has two storeys and an attic.

The front elevation is arranged around a centre part with three bays of leaded casement windows. The right-hand bay has three lights, while the remaining bays have four. A planked and studded door sits centrally, sheltered by a flat hood with a moulded cornice supported on plain curved brackets. A four-light casement window is positioned above the door on the upper floor. To the right of the centre part is a recessed two-storey section, where the roof slopes down to one and a half storeys, featuring a four-light casement window. To the left is a small single-storey section with a pent roof, behind which a cross-gabled two-storey section extends to the northwest front.
