Description

Dean Place Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse, altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of grey and red brick, with red brick dressings, and has old tile hipped and gabled roofs. The farmhouse has a double-depth plan with a gabled extension at the rear (southwest). It is two storeys high, and features three chimneys with clay pots. A dentilled eaves course runs around the building. Sash windows with glazing bars are set within gauged brick heads. The northeast front is symmetrical, with three bays. A 19th-century entrance door, now partly glazed, is centrally positioned, flanked by early 20th-century bay windows linked by a large glazed panel with a transom and glazing bars. These are all covered by a full-width, lean-to roof, hipped at the ends and featuring a moulded wooden eaves cornice. The southeast front has three bays, the centre bay being blind on both floors.
