Description
The stable block and grooms' houses at Cayton Park South, now used as houses and garages, date from the late 19th century and were altered in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with a tile roof featuring coped gables and a mansard roof over the southern range. It has a rectangular plan with a central courtyard and an arched, gabled entrance on the south front. The structure is part one and a half storeys and part two storeys, with three large chimneys on the main section and one chimney on the ridge of the house, all featuring offset heads and clay pots.
The main front, which faces south, is irregular in design. The arched and stepped gabled entrance to the courtyard is located to the right of the center. Above the entrance is a clock tower topped with an ogee roof and a finial. To the right end, there is a two-storey hipped projection with wooden coved eaves over a ground-floor window. The house is set back to the right of this projection and includes two one-storey hipped projections. The windows are leaded casements, with the first floor featuring one three-light dormer and two two-light dormers to the left of the entrance, one two-light dormer to the right, and one seven-light dormer in the projection. The ground floor includes a plain door to the left of a four-light window, both positioned to the left of the entrance, as well as a four-light window with a segmental-arched head to the right of the entrance and a six-light window in the projection.
Inside the courtyard, there is a square turret in the northeast corner, which has a plain entrance door with a fanlight, a two-light window above, and a pyramidal roof with a flêche. Juddmonte South was previously known as Cayton Park.
