Description

No. 18 Monkton Street is a small villa built around 1830 or 1840. It has two storeys and a basement, with a stucco exterior that features pilaster strips on a plinth. The centre of the building slightly projects, and it has a low-pitched hipped slate roof with projecting eaves. There are three recessed sash windows with intact glazing bars, block sills, and architrave surrounds. The central door is recessed, panelled, and glazed, with splayed reveals and flanked by Doric pilasters topped with an entablature. Nos. 18 to 25 Monkton Street form a group.
