Description
No. 15 Melville Street is a villa dating from around 1830 to 1840. It is two storeys tall with a basement and has a rendered exterior featuring painted pilasters on the front and sides, set on a plinth. The roof is low-pitched, hipped, and covered with slate, featuring wide eaves. The central section of the villa slightly projects and has blind window sash windows without glazing bars. The entrance door is flanked by paired engaged Doric columns and pilasters, which support a frieze and cornice. On the north garden front, there are three windows, two of which are in a bow shape, with additional pilasters inserted at the angle between the bow and the wall. This front retains its glazing bars. There is also a wing with one window added to the west, which is slightly recessed from the main front. Nos 14 to 20 Melville Street form a group with this villa.
