Description
Coromandel is a building dating from around 1830, with later alterations. It has an irregular plan featuring a two-storey main block and a single-storey wing raised on a bank to the east. The two-storey block has a painted brick ground floor and a stuccoed first floor. The first floor includes a recessed panel and a central bay window with three lights, which has sash windows with later glazing bars, Tuscan pilasters, a plain frieze with a dentil cornice, and a panelled apron. The ground floor features a casement window in a plain wood frame and a doorway to the right with a stone lintel.
The single-storey wing, also raised on the bank to the east, is stucco-faced with a bowed east end resting on a shallow plinth. Like the main block, it has a gable end slate roof that is conical at the east end, with eaves extending down to form a verandah supported by cast iron columns. The verandah is stone flagged. There are two full-length sash windows on either side of the bow, with intact glazing bars and flush wood frames, each having a curved step below the sill leading onto the verandah. At right angles to the west is a two-storey coach house made of red brick, which has modern garage doors inserted and a gable end slate roof.
