Description
No. 7 Bellevue Road is a building dating from around 1830, originally known as the "4 Jays" Public House. It stands three storeys tall and is constructed of red brick with grey headers, a common style in Newport but unusual for Ryde. The building features a low pitch hipped slate roof with projecting eaves.
On the façade, there are three windows; the first-floor centre window is blind, while the second floor has a large rectangular stucco panel. The windows are recessed sash types with glazing bars, block sills, and rubbed brick flat arches. The first-floor window on the left is a shallow bay with three lights, also sash with glazing bars, and is adorned with a Tuscan pilaster frieze and a cornice that projects to the sides, along with a stepped apron. The central entrance consists of a modern recessed door with a flat brick arch above, and there is a stone step leading up to it.
