Description
Number 5 is a detached house built around 1840, featuring stucco and a slate roof. The building has two and three storeys above a basement, with a three-window range facing Powis Villas and a two-window range on Clifton Hill. The front elevation on Powis Villas includes a set-back entrance bay to the right with a flat-arched porch and entrance, and a three-storey tower element to the left, which has chamfered quoins at the corners. The ground floor showcases banded rustication, with a canted bay window at the basement and ground floor levels. The left-hand window features a cast-iron balcony and a concave awning. Above the bay, there is a tripartite window on the first floor, and a round-arched window on the second floor of the tower. The building has bracketed eaves and hipped roofs, with side stacks. The return elevation on Clifton Hill includes a two-storey canted bay to the east and a round-arched window on the first floor to the right of that. The interior was not inspected. The property also has stuccoed garden walls with moulded coping and rusticated piers topped with a cornice and finial.
