Description

No. 4 Powis Villas is a detached house dating from around 1840. It is constructed of stucco with a slate roof. The house is two storeys high with a basement, and has a three-window front, arranged as a double-fronted design.

A flight of steps leads up to a flat-arched porch, which is framed by pilasters with stepped capitals and a surrounding entablature. The porch has a flat-arched entrance and overlight. Canted bays extend from the basement to the ground floor on either side of the main facade, with windows divided by pilasters that feature stepped capitals. A storey band runs along the front. Chamfered quoins are visible, as are bracketed eaves. The roof is hipped and there is a side stack.

The return elevation facing Clifton Hill incorporates a full-height segmental bay, with ground and first floor windows again separated by pilasters with stepped capitals.

The interior of the property has not been inspected.
