Description
Number 3 Powis Villas is a detached house dating from around 1840. It is built of stucco with a slate roof. The house is two stories high, with a basement, and has a three-window frontage to Powis Square and a two-window frontage to Powis Villas. The original house had an L-shaped plan, similar to Number 2, with a later addition to the west. The entrance is located in the angle of the L-shape, and the longer section of the building is decorated with rustication. The entrance features a flat arch with a transom light, framed by pilasters and an entablature. The Powis Square frontage has segmental bay windows on both the ground and first floors, featuring triple windows, with a window-guard to the first-floor window. The Powis Villas frontage has a segmental bay window on the ground floor only, with windows divided by pilasters and stepped capitals. A storey band runs along the building. The southernmost window on the Powis Villas side is blank. The west-facing extension features an oriel window on the first floor. The roof is hipped, and there is a side chimney stack. The interior of the house has not been inspected. The property is surrounded by low garden walls made of unpainted stucco, with moulded coping and square, corniced gate piers.
