Description

Numbers 6 and 7 Powis Villas are a pair of semi-detached houses dating from around 1840. They are built of stucco with a slate roof. The houses are two storeys high, with a basement, and have a two-and-a-half-window front. The design is double-fronted, incorporating a shared central blank window. A flat-arched entrance with an overlight is located in the outer bay of number 6, and has now been replaced by a window in number 7. A canted bay window extends from the basement and the ground floor. The ground floor windows are divided by pilasters with stepped capitals. Chamfered quoins mark the outer angles. Bracketed eaves are present, and there is a hipped roof with a stack on the party wall between the houses. Number 7 also has a canted bay window on its return side facing Powis Grove. The interior has not been inspected. The property includes stuccoed garden walls with moulded coping, along with square, rusticated, corniced gate piers. These houses are similar in style to numbers 8 and 9 Powis Villas.
