Number 2 And Attached Walls

Number 2 is a detached house built around 1840, featuring a stucco exterior and a slate roof. The building has two storeys above a basement and presents two-window ranges to both Powis Square and Powis Villas. It has an L-shaped plan with the entrance located at the angle, where the longer side is rusticated on the ground floor. The flat-arched entrance is framed by pilasters and an entablature, while there is a segmental bay on both the ground and first floors facing Powis Square, which includes triple windows and a window guard on the ground floor. There is also a segmental bay on the ground floor only in Powis Villas, similarly featuring triple windows divided by pilasters with stepped capitals. Additional details include a storey band, one blank first-floor window, and original design sashes on the southernmost first-floor window in Powis Villas. The house has bracketed eaves, a hipped roof, and corniced side stacks. The interior has not been inspected. The property is complemented by stucco dwarf garden walls with moulded coping and square corniced gate piers. This house is designed to match Number 3 Powis Villas, located on the opposite side of Powis Square.
