Description
Number 7 is an attached house located on Sion Hill in Clifton, dating from around 1800. The building features a rendered exterior with limestone dressings, brick party wall stacks, and a slate mansard roof. It is designed in the late Georgian style and has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, with a three-window range.
The front of the house is asymmetrical, showcasing a moulded parapet coping and a right-hand canted full-height bay. The left-of-centre doorway is topped with a bracketed canopy and features a 20th-century six-panel door. The three-light bay includes 8/8-pane sashes and flanking 4/4-pane sashes with blind boxes, while to the left of the doorway, there is a horned plate-glass sash. The first floor has 12/12-pane sashes with flanking 6/6-pane bay sashes and left-hand French windows, and the second floor has two horned plate-glass sashes. A single dormer is present on the roof.
A full-width first-floor tented timber balcony is supported by cast-iron brackets and features railings with circular panels and cobweb spandrels, along with basket balconies on the second floor. The property also includes subsidiary features such as attached wrought-iron front basement area railings and gates with urn finials, as well as capped, banded piers on the left-hand side. The interior has not been inspected.
