Description

Number 6 is an attached house located on Sion Hill in Clifton, dating from around 1800. It is built of stucco with limestone dressings and has brick party wall stacks, although the roof is not visible. The house features a double-depth plan in the late Georgian style, standing four storeys high with a basement and a four-window range.

The façade includes a cornice and parapet, with a semicircular-arched doorway on the left that has imposts and a bracketed open pediment, along with a batswing fanlight and a six-panel door. On the right, there is a full-height three-light canted bay that has 6/6/6-pane sashes on the ground and first floors, plate-glass on the second floor, and 6/6-pane sashes on the left and right sides of the third floor, with 3/6-pane windows in the bay. The rear features an oriel window.

A full-width timber balcony on the first floor is supported by a timber roof and cast-iron supports, with brackets and railings that include oval panels and palmettes beneath. The property also has subsidiary features, including attached wrought-iron front basement area railings and gates with urn finials, along with capped banded piers. The interior has not been inspected.
