Description

TQ 2781 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER UPPER MONTAGU STREET, Wl 43/68 Nos. 18 and 20 G.V. II Terraced houses. c.1810-20, as part of J.T. Parkinson's Montagu Square Portman Estate development. Stock brick, No. 18 with channelled stucco ground floor; concealed slate roofs. 4 storeys and basement. 2-window wide fronts. Adjacent semicircular arched doorways to left/right of each front; panelled doors in reeded jambs and fanlights (No. 18 patterned). Recessed sashes, glazing bars intact, under flat gauged arches. Stucco plat band to 1st floor. Crowning stucco cornice and blocking course. Cast iron, palmette patterned balconettes to 1st floor windows. Cast iron area railings with urn finials.
