Description
Nos. 116 and 117 Crawford Street is a terraced house dating from around 1800, which features two later shop fronts added in the mid-19th century. It is part of the Gloucester Place development. The building is constructed of stock brick and has a concealed slate roof. It stands three storeys tall and is three windows wide. The house has a square-headed doorway with a panelled door and a fanlight, located in a shallow lobby between the shop fronts. The shop windows have been altered, with the window at No. 116 being broader, both situated under a common entablature fascia that has swept ends to the frieze and a dentil cornice. The upper floors feature recessed sash windows with original glazing bars, which are particularly tall on the first floor, all set beneath flat gauged red brick arches. The building is topped with a parapet that has stone coping.
