Description

TQ 2781 NE CITY OF WESTMINSTER UPPER MONTAGU STREET, W1 43/67 5.2.70 Nos. 15 to 19(odd) G.V. II Terraced houses. c.1810-20, as part of J.T. Parkinson's Montagu Square Portman Estate development. Stock brick with channelled stucco ground floor; concealed slate roofs. 4 storeys and basement. 2-window wide fronts. Segmental arched doorways recessed for one order to right; panelled doors in pilaster jambs and decorated fanlights. Ground floor windows segmental arched and recessed for one order with panelled aprons. Recessed glazing bar sashes, under flat gauged arches to upper floors. Stuccowork finished off with plat band at 1st floor level. Crowning stucco cornice and blocking course. Continuous, cast iron, palmette standard and geometric patterned balconies to 1st floor. Cast iron area railings with urn finials.
