Description
No. 30 Montagu Square is a terraced town house built around 1810-1811 by J.T. Parkinson as part of the Montagu-Bryanston Square development for the Portman Estate. The building is constructed of stock brick with a channelled stucco ground floor and features a concealed slate roof. It stands four storeys tall with a basement and is three windows wide. To the right, there is a semicircular arched doorway with a double panelled door set in pilaster jambs, accompanied by sidelights and a fanlight. The upper floors have recessed glazing bar sashes beneath flat gauged red brick arches. A plat band caps the ground floor stuccowork, while a drowning stucco cornice and blocking course complete the design. The property is also adorned with cast iron area railings featuring urn finials.
