Description
No. 35 Montagu Square is a terraced town house built around 1810-1811 by J.T. Parkinson as part of the Montagu-Bryanston Square development for the Portman Estate. The building is constructed of stock brick with a channelled stucco ground floor and features a concealed slate roof. It stands five storeys tall with a basement and is three windows wide.
To the left, there is a semicircular arched doorway with a panelled door, fluted jambs, and a patterned fanlight. The upper floors have recessed sash windows under flat gauged arches. A plat band finishes off the ground floor stuccowork, and there is a crowning stucco cornice and blocking course. The first floor has a continuous cast iron balcony with a geometric pattern, and the area is enclosed by cast iron railings topped with urn finials.
