Description
No. 45 Montagu Square is a terraced town house built around 1810-1811 by J.T. Parkinson as part of the Montagu-Bryanston Square development for the Portman Estate. The building is constructed of stock brick with a channelled stucco ground floor and has a concealed slate roof. It stands five storeys tall with a basement and features three windows across its façade.
To the left, there is a semicircular arched doorway with a panelled door set in fluted jambs and a fanlight above. The upper floors have recessed sash windows that are set under flat gauged red brick arches. A plain stone coped parapet caps the front of the building, and a continuous cast iron balcony with an interlinked circle pattern is located on the first floor. Additionally, there are cast iron area railings with urn finials.
