Description

Nos. 13 and 14 Montagu Street are a pair of terraced houses dating from circa 1810-1820. They were likely designed by J.T. Parkinson as part of his development of Montagu Square for the Portman Estate. The houses are constructed of stock brick with concealed slate roofs, and extend to five storeys and include basements. Each front is two windows wide. A semicircular arched doorway is located on the right-hand side, featuring a panelled door and a radial patterned fanlight. The windows are recessed sash windows set within flat, gauged arches. The facades have crowning stucco cornices and blocking courses. Delicate cast iron balconettes are present on the first floor. Cast iron area railings with pineapple finials complete the exterior.
