Description
No. 60 Montagu Square is a terraced town house built around 1810-1811 by J.T. Parkinson as part of the Montagu-Bryanston Square development. The house is constructed of stock brick with a channelled stucco ground floor and has a concealed slate roof. It stands four storeys tall with a basement and features three windows across its façade. To the right, there is a semicircular arched doorway with a panelled door set in fluted jambs and a fanlight above. The upper floors have recessed glazing bar sash windows, which are set under flat gauged arches. A plat band finishes off the ground floor stuccowork, and the building is topped with a stone coped parapet. A continuous cast iron balcony with a geometric pattern is present on the first floor, along with cast iron area railings that have acorn finials.
