Description
No. 41 is an end-of-terrace town house located at Berkeley Square, built around 1750 to 1760. The building has been stuccoed in the early 19th century but was gutted and almost entirely rebuilt in 1983 to resemble its original appearance. It features a slate roof and occupies a prominent corner site with Hill Street. The house stands five storeys tall, including a basement and a dormered mansard roof. It has three windows across the front and a four-window return along Hill Street, with three of these in a full-height canted bay. The windows are recessed sashes with renewed glazing bars. Architectural details include a moulded cornice above the fourth floor, a parapet with coping, and a plat band at the first floor. There are cast iron balconettes at the first floor and cast iron area railings with urn finials.
