Description
Nos 37 and 39 Clifton Hill are a pair of semidetached villas built around 1840. They are constructed of stucco and feature a slate hipped roof that extends to the eaves. Each villa has two storeys and a basement, with each house being two windows wide. The outer bays have projecting pilastered porches, and the entrances are fitted with panelled doors. The windows are square-headed, with architraves and sashes, and the ground floor windows have cornices. Some of the windows include plate glass with margin glazing, and there are cast iron window guards on the ground floor. This pair is part of an unusually complete surviving scheme.
