Description
No. 40 Clifton Hill is a detached house built around 1840. It features a stucco exterior and a slate hipped roof that extends to the eaves. The house has two storeys and a basement, with a width of three windows. To the right, there is a projecting entrance that is pilastered, leading to a panelled door. The windows are square-headed, with architraves and margin glazing on the upper floor, while the ground floor windows have a cornice. A cast iron balcony with a vine scroll pattern is located on the ground floor. The eaves are bracketed. This house is part of an unusually complete surviving layout in the area.
