Description
Nos 56 and 58 Clifton Hill are a pair of semidetached villas built in the mid-19th century. They are constructed of stucco and feature a hipped slate roof that extends to the eaves. The buildings are two storeys high with a basement and each villa is two bays wide, flanked by recessed one-bay entrance wings on either side. The entrances have square-headed cornices, and the windows are also square-headed with cornices on the ground floor, framed by architraves. The windows have casements that date from around 1900. The eaves are bracketed, and there are garages located in the basements. These villas are part of an unusually complete surviving layout in the area.
