Description
Nos 39 to 49 on Walden Street, built in the early 19th century, are a terrace of houses made from stock brick. They feature a coped parapet and a mansard slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high and include dormers and basements. Each house has two sash windows with flat gauged arches, with about half of them having glazing bars. The doorways are round-headed and have fanlights above six-panelled doors. These houses are associated with the terraces on Philpot Street. Although Nos 31 to 37 are part of the same terrace, they are not listed, as two have been rebuilt and one half has been demolished, resulting in a different roof line. Nos 39 to 49 form a cohesive group.
