Description
No. 38 Newark Street is a late 19th-century vicarage constructed of yellow brick with red brick dressings. The building has two storeys, an attic, and a basement. It features mostly four sash windows, each with Gothic arches above, and fish scale tiles in the tympanum. The porch has a flattened gable and a pointed arch at the entrance. This property was the residence of historian J. R. Green, commemorated by a tablet. Nos. 28 to 42 (even) form a group with St Augustine with St Philip's Church on Stepney Way.
