No 36 and 36A on Newark Street, built in 1842, was formerly a school. It is designed in the Gothic style, constructed from grey brick with white stone dressings. The building has two storeys and features five bays, with the outer two and the center bay being slightly advanced. Nos 28 to 42 (even) form a group with St Augustine with St Philip's Church located on Stepney Way.
