Description
Nos 6 to 11 on Whitehead's Lane are a terrace of houses that date from the late 18th century or early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of ashlar and rise to four storeys, featuring modern brick chimney-stacks and pantiled roofs with plain eaves. A string-course runs above the ground floor. Each property has four windows, arranged in pairs with continuous sills, and there is an additional window to the right of No 6. This window is situated above a square-headed chamfered doorway that leads to a passage providing access to Nos 7 to 9 at the rear of the terrace. All windows are sash with glazing bars. The doors along the street are set in chamfered reveals and have hoods supported by curved brackets. Notably, No 10 features a pair of hoods with a blocked door to the left. The listed buildings on Whitehead's Lane, along with Nos 15 to 17 on Silver Street and Nos 1 to 4 and Nos 7 and 8 on White Hill, form a cohesive group.
