Description

This is an 18th-century building located on Whitehead’s Lane, and it is an original extension returned up the lane, built contiguous with number 13. The building is constructed of ashlar, with three storeys plus a mansard roof, the upper section covered with pantiles and the lower with stone slabs. A dormer window features wooden casements. Architectural details include a dentilled cornice, a plain parapet, a continuous string course at first-floor level, and a plinth, all matching those of number 13. It has two windows, with paired sashes on the ground floor, set in plain reveals and containing glazing bars. A doorway to the left has chamfered reveals and a hood supported by curved brackets. The doorway contains a six-panel door, with the upper two panels glazed. The building forms part of a group with numbers 15 to 17 in Silver Street, and numbers 1 to 4 and 7 and 8 on White Hill.
