Description

Nos. 2 and 3 White Hill comprise a tall, three-storey block likely dating from the early 19th century, situated on the north side of an isolated group of buildings at the southern end of White Hill. Built of ashlar, it features a hipped pantiled roof and an eaves cornice. A string-course runs above the ground floor. The fenestration consists of a single window per storey, with paired sash windows. The first-floor windows have glazing bars. A modern door replaces what was formerly in place. A two-storey extension to the west side (No. 3) is likely from the 18th century; it is constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings and has a slate roof. It features a single pair of casement windows on the first floor, and a plain wooden door leading up four steps. The buildings at White Hill, along with those at 15 to 17 Silver Street, and 1 to 4 and 7 and 8 White Hill, are designated as a group due to their collective historic interest.
