Description
This detached house, number 67 Holland Park, was built in 1862 as part of the planned layout for Holland Park. It is constructed of stucco and stands three storeys high, with an attic and a basement. The symmetrical facade is three bays wide, arranged 1:1:1. The ground floor is characterised by channelled detailing, leading to a central entrance with steps beneath a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy supported by Doric half columns. Two-storey canted bay windows flank the entrance, featuring Ionic pilasters on the upper storey. Pilasters also define the outer windows on the second floor, and a small balustraded balcony is situated above the central window. A rich cornice runs along the top of the house, leading to a balustraded parapet which incorporates three dormers; the two outer dormers have pediments, while the central one has chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor.
