Description

This detached house was built in 1862 as part of the planned layout for Holland Park. It is constructed of stucco and has three storeys, an attic, and a basement. The house is three bays wide, with a symmetrical design of 1:1:1. The ground floor is characterized by channelling. A central entrance is accessed by steps, flanked by Doric half columns. Two-storey canted bay windows are located on each side, featuring Ionic pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters also define the outer windows on the second floor. A small balustraded balcony sits in front of the central window. The roofline has a rich cornice parapet incorporating three dormers; the outer two are pedimented, while the central one features chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor.
