43, Holland Park W11

No. 43 is a detached house built in 1862, constructed of stucco. The building has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, and is three bays wide with a symmetrical arrangement of 1:1:1. The ground floor features channelling, and there are steps leading to the central entrance, which is flanked by Doric half columns. On either side of the entrance, there are two-storey canted bay windows with Ionic pilasters on the upper storey. The outer windows on the second floor also have pilasters. A small balustraded balcony is present at the central window, and there is a rich cornice above. The attic has been remodelled, but the central dormer has been retained. Additionally, there are cast iron balconies at the ground floor. This house is part of the planned layout of Holland Park.
