Description

No. 79 is a detached house built in 1862, constructed of stucco. It stands three storeys high with a basement and is three bays wide, featuring a symmetrical design. The ground floor has channelling, and there are steps leading to the central entrance, which is flanked by Doric half columns. On either side of the entrance, there are two-storey canted bay windows with Ionic pilasters on the upper storey. The outer windows on the second floor also have pilasters. A small balustraded balcony is present at the central window, and the building is topped with a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet that includes a central feature. There is no attic, and cast iron balconies adorn the ground floor. This house is part of the planned layout of Holland Park.
