Description

No. 77 Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862 as part of the planned layout for Holland Park. The house is constructed of stucco, with three storeys, an attic, and a basement. It is three bays wide, arranged symmetrically as 1:1:1. The ground floor has channelling. Steps lead to a central entrance, sheltered by a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. Two-storey canted bay windows flank the entrance, each featuring Ionic pilasters to the upper storey. The second floor has pilasters to the outer windows, and a small balustraded balcony sits above the central window. A rich cornice is topped by a balustraded parapet incorporating three dormers; the two outer dormers have pediments, and the central dormer features chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are located on the ground floor.
