Description

No. 39 Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862 as part of the planned layout of Holland Park. The house is constructed of stucco and has three storeys, an attic, and a basement. It is symmetrical in design, with a three-bay facade featuring channelling to the ground floor. Steps lead to a central entrance framed by Doric half columns. Canted bay windows extend two storeys on either side, with Ionic pilasters marking the upper level. Pilasters also define the outer windows on the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is situated above the central window. The building is distinguished by a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet that incorporates three dormers; the two outer dormers have pediments, while the central dormer has chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor.
