Description
No. 60 is a detached house built in 1862, constructed of stucco. The building has three storeys, an attic, and a basement, and is three bays wide with a symmetrical arrangement of 1:1:1. The ground floor features channelling and steps leading to a central entrance flanked by Doric half columns. On either side of the entrance, there are two-storey canted bay windows supported by Ionic pilasters on the upper storey. The outer windows on the second floor also have pilasters. A small balustraded balcony is present at the central window, and the house is topped with a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet that incorporates three dormers; the outer two are pedimented, while the inner one has chimney outlets. Additionally, there are cast iron balconies on the ground floor. This house is part of the planned layout of Holland Park.
