Description

This detached house was built in 1862 as part of the planned layout for Holland Park. It is constructed of stucco, with three storeys, an attic, and a basement. The building is three bays wide, arranged symmetrically as 1:1:1. The ground floor has vertical channelling. Steps lead to the centrally positioned entrance, sheltered by a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. Canted bay windows extend two storeys on either side, featuring Ionic pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters also define the outer windows on the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is positioned in front of the central second-floor window. The cornice is elaborately detailed. The attic was remodelled in stucco, retaining a central window. Cast iron balconies are located on the ground floor.
