Description
57 Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862. It is constructed of stucco and stands three storeys high, with an attic and basement. The house is three bays wide, arranged symmetrically as 1:1:1. The ground floor features channelled details. A central entrance is accessed by steps, sheltered by a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. Two-storey canted bay windows flank the entrance, each featuring Ionic pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters appear on the outer windows of the second floor, and a small balustraded balcony is situated above the central window. A rich cornice runs around the building, topped by a balustraded parapet incorporating three dormers; the two outer dormers have pediments, while the central dormer includes chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are present on the ground floor. The building forms part of the planned layout of Holland Park.
