Description

No. 3 Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862, constructed of stucco. It is three storeys high with an attic and basement, and has a symmetrical three-bay facade arranged as 1:1:1. The ground floor features channelling, and a central entrance is accessed by steps beneath a wrought and cast iron glazed canopy. Two-storey canted bay windows flank the central entrance, each featuring Corinthian pilasters on the upper storey. Pilasters are also present on the outer windows of the second floor. A small balustraded balcony sits above the central window. The house has a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet incorporating three dormers: the two outer dormers are pedimented, while the central dormer includes chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are positioned on the ground floor. The property was designed as part of the planned layout for Holland Park.
