Description

No. 6 Holland Park is a detached house built in 1862. It is constructed of stucco and stands three storeys high, with an attic and basement. The house is three bays wide and has a symmetrical design. The ground floor is characterized by channelled detailing. Steps lead to a central entrance framed by Doric hall columns. Two-storey canted bay windows flank the central bay, each featuring Corinthian pilasters to the upper storey. Pilasters also define the outer windows on the second floor. A small balustraded balcony is positioned at the central window. The house has a rich cornice and a balustraded parapet incorporating three dormers; the outer two are pedimented, while the central one includes chimney outlets. Cast iron balconies are attached to the ground floor. The building was designed as part of the wider Holland Park planning layout.
